TYPES OF SEX
ANAL SEX
Penetration of the anus. Straight and same sex couples practice anal sex. Water/silicone-based lubricant should be used. Condoms should be worn to reduce the risk of STI transmission.
ORAL SEX
Using the mouth to stimulate the genitals (blow job, licking out , going down) or anus (rimming). Flavoured condoms can be worn during oral sex on a penis and dental dams for oral sex on a vagina or anus to reduce the risk of STIs.
VAGINAL SEX
Penetration of the vagina with a penis or sex toy. Condoms should be worn to reduce the risk of STI transmission and unwanted pregnancy.
PENETRATIVE SEX
When something (e.g. a penis or sex toy) goes inside someone else’s body. Vaginal, anal and oral sex are all types of penetrative sex
SEX TOYS
Some people use sex toys as part of their sexual activity. To avoid passing on STIs, put a fresh condom onto the sex toy between partners or use one sex toy per partner. They should be cleaned with warm soapy water after use
HAND SEX (Manual Sex)
This can be stimulating someone’s genitals (or your own) with your hands or providing penetration via the hands. There are three types of manual sex: fingering, handjobs, and fisting. Fingering can be stimulating either a vulva or an anus with the hands or fingers. A handjob is when the penis is manually stimulated. And finally, fisting involves placing the entire fist into an orifice.
