The Free Condom Project is a Condom Distribution Scheme for targeted groups of adults. The scheme is targeted at clients who fall within identified HIV risk groups and the aim is to provide access to free condoms and sexual health information at a wide range of settings within the borough, reducing HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in Hackney. The scheme will also be used to increase the number of people testing for HIV amongst the target audience by encouraging attendance at venues from which testing can be offered.
The scheme is available to people in Hackney over 25 years old (those under 25 can access the Come Correct scheme). There are a range of outlets across the borough where people can register and/or get their condom supply. Locations known as outlets include clinics, pharmacies and organisations working with the targeted groups.
A full list can be found at www.TFCProject.org.uk
Once registered people can get condoms every week (or just when they need to ) from any participating outlet by showing their card and having the supply registered on the computer system.
